thefordmccord
Just wanted to post up our team's results from this past weekend. Jeremy McCord Two 15" Sundown Nightshades and one Sundown 3000D on 80 amps of fusing. Drive-By 2 1st place with a 124.6 Drive-By best of show with the loudest Drive-by score of the day. Corey Mitchell One 12" PBX XS and one Sundown 1500D on 60 amps of fusing. Drive-By 1 1st place with a 120.4 Phat 12 award for the loudest system with a single 12" sub. For everyone that does not know, this is metered on the Termlab doing a 30 second average with the meter 6 feet outside of the vehicle. I did not get any pictures of the show because of the bad weather. E a r t h
Whats the deal for the small fusing? Are you putting smaller fuses in the amps and cranking them in short bursts till they blow? I know fuses dont blow unless at rated or above for an extended time. I see how that may be beneficial

I see how that may be beneficial the fusing is how meca determines what class you are in...its kinda gay, but on the other hand, it really helps to keep costs down b/c it limits how many watts you can run.....he has a smiliar fusing setup as i do...here is mine...im running 1200watts off 55amps of fusing which is no problem...some guys are running 55amps of fusing with 6000watts and that takes some skill... thefordmccord
Here is a picture of my fuse holder. I am using 16 5 amp fuses to get my 80 amps. MECA uses a pressure formula to put you into a class. Here is a link explaining it. http://www.mecacaraudio.com/2008Rulebook/2...%20page%207.pdf Quote Team Carlisle Acoustics - Team Sundown Audio 2010 MECA DB3 World Champ 127.2 2010 MECA DB3 KY State Record 127.3 2009 February MECA Member of the Month 2008 MECA DB2 World Champ 131.9db 2008 MECA DB2 KY State Record 129.1 2008 MECA Neighborhood Nuisance 2007 MECA AS2 KY State Record 144.

kingsuv
So really, if you work it right, you guys are pushing more amperage through a bunch of 5 amp fuses then using 1 fuse. Cause each fuse will have a tolerance of + X amount of % over stated fuse rating. Quote Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out. not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.

Thats the trick. I'm running daily on my 80 amps worth of fusing. The fuses don't even get warm. We will see how things go when my second 3000D comes in. Hopefully before the weekend.
