Need recommendations for 2-3 8" subs for 2.1ft³ sealed

Recommended Posts

I've been looking for 2-3 8" subs that can dig low and have solid SQ from a sealed enclosure. Currently I believe the Dayton Ultimax 8s have made the top of the list but if you have any other recommendations I'd love to hear them?

Can fit about 2.1ft³ without taking up too much room.

This will be going in the trunk of my GFs 2011 mustang with the shaker 500 system currently. It will have Infinity reference 8" in the doors handling midbass and JBL GTOs components in the rear(leaving out the tweets and Passives) for fill but haven't decided on what I want to put in the front. The midbass and front and rears will be fed by a Kappa K5 5 chan. Haven't bought a sub amp yet so we can play with whatever.

the Savard Hi-Q 8's are worth a look.

SB Acoustics have some nice offerings for 8"s from Madisound, Also Scanspeak has a nice driver too but its pricey (technically they call it a 9"driver).

Ciare has some offerings too that would work and apparently are good to 30hz

Tang Band W8-740P 8" Subwoofer

Theres a bunch. Not sure what F3 you are going for or what you consider low. 8" is a little tougher for drivers that dig low. If low is 35+ theres bunch anything much lower than that and the numbers thin out a bit.

Just looking for a Higher Q  with a lower(than SPL type) FS. I prefer sealed enclosures for that quick, tight response. Loud is nice but accurate is better! And yes an f3 of 35hz would be amazing but under 50hz would be fine!

I'm going to cross them with the Infinity 8s around 70hz-90hz in theory anyway 😂. Gotta see how everything sounds in car.

Those Savard's look promising I may even try out their components up front if you think they are worth a shot?
