12V71
Not really happy with the performance of these old 12s and want to do something new. All Input is appreciated for a large extended cab truck. Notes: SQL focused Budget 700 for subs Power 1000 RMS at 2 ohm (amp can not run at 1 ohm and not buying another amp) Need to face subs in a way that can accommodate the amps Facing Back is the best current sound (tried forward, up, down, left, right) Really would like 4 10s they have been better to me in similar applications Picture of space MAX dimensions included with proposed design I have allowed an additional 3" on each side for ports
1point21gigawatts
You’re not happy with you subwoofers and enclosure because of the way it’s facing. Face the subwoofers up and you will smile. “How can we help you?” “And don’t forget to tell them that the customer isn’t always right.”

I would like to start over with new subs and new boxes open to any configuration that will work the best, last 4 10s in a truck i had was facing up and ports to the side. it rocked, wish i could get 4 old school boston pro series
1point21gigawatts
That’s what I’d recommend, subs up, ports facing each side. Getting new subwoofers will do very little for you when it comes to improvement. Building a better enclosure is the main thing you need to worry about for any type of output gain if you don’t want to upgrade your amp. There’s no need to upgrade your subwoofers if you’re not upgrading your amp. Pointless and there will be minimal gain. The enclosure if done correctly will make that system sound twice as loud and twice as good. “How can we help you?” “And don’t forget to tell them that the customer isn’t always right.”
12V71
I agree with you 100% The reason for new subs and new boxes to replace what is in there is a value reason for one. I can get the least total cost out of this deal by the sale of the current set. another point would not build a custom box for even a new set of what is in there now . no chance of repurchasing the same subs
1point21gigawatts
There would be no gain “How can we help you?” “And don’t forget to tell them that the customer isn’t always right.”
12V71
Is this how i would do the port?
1point21gigawatts
Ok so that’s how you want it, not how you have it. I guess I was confused. Can you build a subwoofer enclosure(s)? “How can we help you?” “And don’t forget to tell them that the customer isn’t always right.”

1point21gigawatts
Why do you want to go from 12s to 10s? That would decrease output. I can help you with an enclosure design either way but idk why you want to downgrade in size/cone area. “How can we help you?” “And don’t forget to tell them that the customer isn’t always right.”
