Proper fusing/recommendations for new build

Recommended Posts

I’m going to have an XS SB500-34R for a front battery. One run of 1/0 with a 300a fuse to the rear. Running 2 1/0 fused 200a each to the 40ah lithium bank. Fusing 2 1/0 runs 200a each to a Soundqubed 4500. Also a run to a Boston GT 4100 from the rear lithium bank. Stock 130a alternator.

What do you guys think of this? Thanks for any help!

300 amp fuse on all the 1/0. fuse is to protect the wire. Not sure about the rms of those two amps but there is math you can do to get a rough idea.

take the RMS wattage divide by 13.8 to get amperage. Divide that by .7 for efficiency. totals to rms amperage and the minimum fuse i would use.

example 4500/13.8 = 326/.7 = 466.  for a 4500 watt amplifier i would want 500 amps of fusing.
