And don't really care about db numbers either. My loudest system ever hit a 154.... But my favorite system ever was 143. This system won't ever even get metered. I wish the D4S box was for 2 10s... Then it would be a no brainier. We're talking a nice $700 box for $200... Which is awesome... But then I'll spend another ~350 or so on 12 inch subs to match this amp as well... Now we're over 500 for a little gain, but better looks.... Then again I could likely sell the full DD setup locally,, subs box and amp and recover $350-400 of that back though too. I think I will get the box, but wait on the subs for it. Just so nobody beats me to that great deal. That'll give me time to decide which subs to throw in it... I could technically add a second battery under my hood. There's a spot for it... Damn the rabbit hole is deep. Well hey bro, I'm not doubting you or anything, but I'm just curious what kind of subs, how many, and how many watts you were pushing to hit a 154 dB ??? That is definitely like pro level right there. I think the typical system hitting 154 would be running like four 15"s and pushing between 6 and 10Kwts. Of course that can vary depending on how it's set up. Btw, the dream system I envision would likely be about 15Kwts, and I'd be surprised if it hit 150dB's... Probably like 149 🙂 ....but then again, I'd be shooting for SQL, and EQ'ng to get rid of most of the cabin gain.

Subs right in the cab replaced the back seat. I went to a couple shows with that setup. With the very small cab space it wasnt that hard to get higher numbers. We thought if i did a blow through, to allow a bigger box, i would of been over 155-156.... But a guy ran into the back of me and screwed the entire rear end up and i sold it with the system. The 143 was hit with a single DD 3512, in a TRUNK with 2000 RMS DD amp. 2 batts and HO alt. Won a 3rd place trophy with this setup, but the local shop that had "sponsored" me kept the trophy. This was back in the early 2000s while i was still in the army..... I cant find the s10 setup it was a couple years before the 143, and back then my pictures were developed at eckerds LOL but this shows the 143 and the sub/box. The small amp you can just barely see was a crossfire vr1000d, that wasnt hooked up for the 143. Thats what i was using before i upgraded electrical. The DD amp was used for the 143. My first system was 4 12s on 2K when i was 17... I been doing this for 20 years but havent had a single sub since about 2007... Went overseas and got injured. Then went a decade without being able to drive...I always paid to have everything installed, so im not the most knowledgeable about everything, but i have experience with upgraded electrical, loud setups, and good equipment. Im just older now, have a couple kids, and we go camping, traveling, fishing, kayaking, and to drive in theaters quite a bit... And this is my only vehicle, so i dont wont to make it a permanent SPL vehicle... Thats why i keep trying to avoid going over 1000rms in power. Once i hit 2000, id be upgrading everything, and then who knows what id do. Backwoods
Also from what i hear these days, the meters are more advanced and read lower than the ones used back then.... SO my 154 may of been a 150 today, possibly even a little lower. But i dont know for sure. I have been out of it for quite a while. Backwoods
Ordered two 12” sundown SA classics today... I'll do the big 3, and probably upgrade the amp to a sfb2000d, and run some 0 awg and see how my electrical system can handle it. Started my build with just two 100-300 RMS 10" subs and a 500rms amp just a few weeks ago. Then I switched to a 1000rms amp... Then got a new box for two 12s... Then ordered two 12s... Now I'm doing big 3 and considering the 2000 RMS amp... I'll stop here... I mean technically, being honest here, the 2 tens hit hard enough for me on the sfb1000d. So really I definitely don't need more than the SA 12s LOL Singer 250amp Alt, Singer PCM bypass harness Titan8 Lithium Underhood safe BCI PWR-S5 Big 3 W/ dual runs of power/ground.
