You should fill in them spots around the cutouts with comic strips and then cutout so it’s like the whole enclosure is covered in comic strips. Then put a “glaze coat” epoxy clear coat over it. Glaze coat is like a thick clear coat Oh no those spots will be covered by the subs so no need to fill there. And yes I'm covering the box in clear epoxy today. I'm going to probably lay down 2 full coats of epoxy when I'm done. The sides of the box won't get comic book covering cause: 1. I'm out of comics book materials and I refuse to buy expensive comic books to butcher up. I used cheap $5 Below/Dollar Tree comic books when I started this. 2. No one will really see the sides and back of the box once its in the truck and setup properly. 2007 Chevy Suburban LT1 Pioneer AVH 5700 DVD Diamond Audio D3 6 1/2 components Kicker 06ZX650.4 amp Kicker 06ZX2500.1 (x 2) DC Sound Lab Level 4 18's with Level 5 coils Autotek Mean Machine 400.1D (replaced) Soon to come: rims body kit flow master pipes Confuscious say "he who say it can't be done shouldn't be bothering man busy doing it" Now feel free to go crawl back under that rock and leave this to the professionals.... I have a ton of pics and I just can't attach them here cause of the size limits. Did you run into air bubbles after applying? I used a few of these kits here: https://www.homedepot.com/p/FAMOWOOD-1-qt-Glaze-Coat-Clear-Epoxy-Kit-5050080/301826159 And I did have some slight bubbling, heat from my heat gun removed them without issues. My torch removed the bubbles too, but if I would get too close it would start to discolor the comic material.
