Dgelnette
Hi ive been trying to use the dd1 to find the distortion level of my linkswell gen4 headunit in a 2018 Silverado 1500. Ive tried both ways by headunit only and headunit trough an amp. I keep getting the same results and dont know what is going on? Here is a quick notes that i took 40hz 0db Distortion 18 Signal 36 1khz 0db Signal 21 Distortion 22 1khz detect 25 Distortion back off at 36 back on 39 Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also i did set everything to flat as far as headunit eq goes and im using a audio control acm-4.300 and have all gains set to 0.
1point21gigawatts
I’m not understanding what you are saying. What volume level does distortion occur on the subwoofer rca at 40hz and what volume level does distortion occur on the front or rear rca at 1khz? Dgelnette
See thats what is why im having issues.at 1khz signal light doesn't come on till volume 21 and the distortion at volume 22 but don't get 1khtz detected till volume 25. Obviously as per the dd1 i have distortion before it even detects a 1khtz signal and if i keep raising the volume the distortion stays lit from volume 22 till 36 then it goes back to no distortion from volume 37-38 and 39 reads distortion again? Volume only goes to 40 max. Edited July 29, 2020 by Dgelnette
Dgelnette
Im thinking it might of been user error? Headunit distorts 1khz at volume at 26 when ACM-4.300 is set to bypass and distorts 1khz at volume 28 when set amp to 80hz. And for the sub acm-1.300 it distorts at volume 29 with amp set to bypass and with amp set to 80hz distorts at volume 34. So my question is should i leave the amps high pass crossover at 80hz where audio control told me to leave it on both amps or bypass the whole time? 1point21gigawatts
Leave the amps high pass filter at 80hz. Quote “How can we help you?” “And don’t forget to tell them that the customer isn’t always right.”
Dgelnette
See there lies the problem if i leave my front and rear amp set to 80hz high pass filter then my rears get 1khz detect at vol 29 but never gets distort red light and my fronts distort at vol 27 but the 1khz signal blue light dont come on till 30??
