Smurfboy
Hi guys. I just ordered a single 10" EVL Skar subwoofer and 2 set of SPX Components. Will put them together soon! On Skar official page, it suggested/recommended 40hz for EVL 10" but was wondering if that's good for Trap/dubstep, etc? For those who have experienced with EVL Skar, what do you suggest? Space is not an issue and it will be powered by RP 1200 Skar amp. Thanks.

I had to check that for myself, but yea, they say 40 hz.... Hmmm. If your a deep bass kind of guy, no. That is not going to be great. It might be pretty loud from 40 hz up to wherever your cabin gain peak is. Now, the 12"s, 15"s, and 18"a all have a recommended tuning of 31-32 hz. Great for deep bass. Anyway, not saying you couldn't tune it to 35, or even 32hz, but I'd be a little concerned going with such a different tuning frequency that what the company recommends. Btw, check out the recommended tuning frequency for the 8" EVL..... It needs to be tuned to 'Hz' 😀 lol..... I guess as opposed to tuning it to like Farenheight or something 😀 lol Btw, I love my 18" Skar ZVX.

This is the first time I go with Skar (I've ran with Kicker and Sundown for many years and they're both great in my humble opinion.) Just wanting to try different brand to see how it goes and I picked Skar this time! And as for 40Hz, you know, I was thinking about that and I'm willing to go with that recommendation to see what it sounds like, first. I can always re-design the box anytime and I have no problem with that. Can't wait!

Fish Chris
Nice I think you will see that even with the guys that don't like Skar, will tell you the products are good, they just got into shit with the employees.... which even on that note, the few Skar guys I've talked to were really cool with me.
