@1point21gigawatts thnx for watching my video :)

I design quite a few boxes. I'm not bad at it. I cleared up a misconception I had and figured others may have that misconception so I posted about it.

Don't act like I'm stupid. I'm not. Box designs I've made since then have been perfectly fine.

No need to bash people on here.

I understand that. But when an experienced designer and builder can easily see that you don’t know what you are doing when it comes to figuring an enclosure design because you obviously don’t know how to calculate using t/s parameters then he is gonna call you out if you offer to help somebody or if somebody asks for your help. I would be wrong if I didn’t. I can see that you do know some things concerning designing and building enclosures, but you don’t know how to calculate t/s parameters nor figure in other basic to intermediate aspects of building an enclosure that even calculations can’t do. How can somebody truly teach (design) if they barely have learned? Just because you can build and design an enclosure on a super flawed program and then that enclosure makes bass that you and other people, who aren’t professionals, perceive as good bass, means nothing. I’m not bashing you, dude. Yeah, you are learning and are on a good path, but you aren’t ready to design enclosures for people who come to a world renown forum to have done. You should be on here and other forums learning. I liked you when I first seen the title of your first post and then read the meaning of your screen name. So, I’m not bashing you or hating on you by any means. If I let you design an enclosure that somebody wants and not tell them that you aren’t a professional, almost the complete opposite, then I would be a bad person. Kinda like if I let my homeboy have sex with a girl that had the clap and didn’t tell him even though I knew it. Please understand.

when i lowered and widened the box 2 inches i also widened the rear port walls by 1 inch each to compensate,i shouldnt do this? and since i was adding another unaccounted for inch to the depth i was going to now subtract that inch from the rear port walls to stay at same cu inch port space.here are the final dimensions w/o subtracting that port length.

is this calculator accurate? http://www.mobileinformationlabs.com/HowTo-1Woofer-Box-CAL Port lenth 1.htm

If so id be at 2.5 maybe a tad more after displacement and bracing and corners, its calling for 30.96  inches of port with these dimensions im currently at 30.25

The back port walls should be half the width of the initial port width or the air speeds of the slots would be different and disrupts air flow at the corners of the port because of the different air speeds in each slot. And if you make the enclosure bigger with the same port area then the port length has to be less to yield the same port tuning frequency. That calculator is basically on point, it’s only off by a hundredth of a point. Let me post some links that would help whoever that wants to design subwoofer enclosures.
