PaulO2288 Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 In NY its a law that you an tint anying on your back windows, paint them black, or anything etc but as long as your front windows are 25% or higher or even none your absolutely fine. I couldent find 25 only 15% and below but did find 35% so thats what I did and it looks and works awesome! Just have to follow the rules, but wall away you can as long as you have side view mirrors.

dwright27 Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 i think facing the woofer and port into the trunk is the problem. turn it a complete 180 and see if its any louder. in a trunk set-up subs and port toward the trunk would be louder, but this has no pass through availability besides the 6x9 holes, but i think if you turned it around you would see an increases. 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L. I had it the way your saying first. then facing up now toward the trunk. so far the way i have it is the loudest. but i've also noticed that its getting louder after playing it for a little while i think it just needs to break in and i need to raise the tuning a little. i cant really pick up and "higher" notes.
Jcoleman134 Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Posted May 15, 2008 I just don't know why the sub is getting so warm. idk if its just because of the glue from the coil or what.

Jcoleman134 Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Posted May 15, 2008 idk, im just trying to help bro. Oh i know and i appreciate it. i really think it something to do with the box. i just don't know what. its a 8.3 cu ft box before woofer displacement. so around 8 cu ft. tuned to 32hz. the woofer is seeing at max 1k. gains aren't high. not even past half. and i don't hear any distortion.
dwright27 Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 i would drop your box volume down to 5.5 - 7 cubes. my btrl is in 6.5 and doesnt get warm at all and i was feeding it with a DD Z1, over 4000 RMS 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L.
