You can get a circular saw that's adjustable for cutting 45s. It's what I do now

I did that after that dual 8 enclosure because 45s have to be in port bends so the port has a uniform width to not interrupt port travel. So I bought a circular saw and a jigsaw that cuts 45s. I wasn’t planning on building enclosures, so I didn’t have the tools I needed. But now. I have what I need. I even wasn’t ecstatic about the look of sanding corners rounded and jigsaw subwoofer cutouts too. So I got me a router and a circle jig. Now I can do clean flush mount builds and uniform rounding on corners.

I still need to get a router because I totally feel you about the jigsaw cutouts. Never quite perfect. Been good enough for me for quite a while, though, and once the driver is in it's not noticeable. I can't be a perfectionist or I'll go insane

It’s about representation. If a customer sees a sloppy cutout then that affects their outlook and the money aspect. A router is the way to go for clean cutouts and rounding, good representation and more money. And rounded corners and surface mounted baffles don’t come on prefabs and that makes the customers excited.

Dont jump to conclusions. I make money on OfferUp. You know why I love kicker? Because the customers (noobs) love kicker lol! It is what it is. But to stand up for kicker, kicker makes good wiring.D9F48EF4-BC20-494A-879B-40EF1BBF61A2.thumb.jpeg.d60505e2bdf2aa88c9e2e3ebd6a9c1b5.jpeg

Ports look small

It’s about 1.5 cubic foot net on each of them stained enclosures, since they are the same enclosure. So, looks can be deceiving. Lol of course the ports are small. The only thing that changed was tuning went from around 36hz to 35hz. And the fact that that enclosure before and after conversion aren’t seeing but around 250-350 rms after rise. Sundown sae-600d on them 8” sundown ev5s and a kicker cxa400.1 on that 10” kicker L5. Of course the ports are small. I built that enclosure on a pair of 8” subwoofers and made it musical. Then the customer wanted to double up on subwoofers, bought another sae600d from me and 2 more 8” ev6 subwoofers from woofersetc and I built him another enclosure and then was given back the other enclosure as part of a payment. Then instead of using more materials, I used a piece of scrap wood and altered that enclosure and put another subwoofer I have in it with another amp, same small rms, so I could make some money. it’s 12sq”-13sq” of port area per cubic foot. Which on some 8” e series subwoofers at that tuning and port area is an amazing sounding enclosure at that minimal rms. And on that aero port enclosure with about double that rms, it’s 2.4 cubic foot net on a 6” aero port. That means it’s about 11.5sq” of port per cube. I’ve listed the specs. I know what them subwoofers like and I know what they do well in. Now that conversion to fit that kicker subwoofer, if I were to build it from scratch, I would of went with more volume and more port area per. But when it comes to money, sometimes you have to budget investments. And I did so on that conversion and maintained a good subwoofer enclosure. Win win.

Tried to tune that enclosure to 35hz, but I messed up on a cut and had to shorten the port. Plus, I didn’t have a table saw to cut a 45 on the port bend. It pissed me off but I said fugh it and kept going. That’s what you gotta do on things to push through and move forward. Don’t sweat the small things and don’t let it hold you back or bring you down. Just continue to aim high and keep on keepin on and gitrdone. Bass on.

Where did you end up on the tuning after the shortened port?  I like the look of the box.

36hz but it went back to 35hz when I added a front baffle to alter that enclosure because the port extended .75” in physical port length.
