I had loading issues with the subs, for over 4kw per sub demoing, they were moving quite a lot.

From preview experiences I know these subs like to play in smaller volumes than usual, so I planed to modify the wall.

The easiest way to reduce the volume was to reduce the depth, that's a good point as reducing the depth will help controling the excursion.

To be clear, I draw something to be sure about where to go, here's the drawing (seen from the top).

I added also the blue part, as told by my SPL specialist friend, could help with the output.

I bought some 60x60mm wood bars to reduce the depth (all the empty spaces you'll see in the next photos were filled with foam + fiberglass + resin).

Pain in the butt to get these bars double screwed (screw between the bars + screw from the rear of the wall) and glued.

then a small MDF board to make everything smoother (as I said the empty spaces were filled and reinforced).

The main job with this was the middle piece (remember that blue part on my drawing ?).

I wanted to do something strong, so I went for an MDF stacked piece.

A few layers of putty and sanding and it's looking correct

I don't have the pictures of the finished piece, it has been painted with primer and then painted black so we can hardly see the imperfection (cheater 😱).

Here's why I made a dismountable rack in the trunk, it's so easy to put take everything out and all back in again

I've made some modifications on top of the car, close from the windshield, to fill all the holes, but I have no photo also...

I made a bit of painting then I put everything back together on front of the car and wow, new look is, I think, cool :D

A few tests, the modifications were quite useful, gained about 1dB and lowered the peak frequency by 3hz.

The playing range is about 27-50hz and it's quite good at external demos.

I didn't clamp the power, but I'm pretty sure I didn't exceed the 16kw of the first tests (voltage drops to 13.9v, it was dropping to 13.5v before).

I'll need to make more tests when I'll be able to, as you can imagine, the neighbours are not as happy as me about the Spl scores 😂
