Ice Cold 205
Wanting to know how dependable are the dash kits are for the 2014 Ford Explorer xlt with the 4.2 inch factory radio? Has anyone worked on this vehicle with a system involved?
Arthur79
What kit(s) are you looking at? I've been using the Maestro KIT-FTR1 in my '16 F-150 since 2019 and it has been flawless. I've never had an issue with steering wheel controls not working or anything like that. The fit and finish/build quality blend well with the factory dash as well in my opinion. Here is a shot of the kit installed in the truck: Maestro has a kit for the '13-'14 trucks as well. It's expensive, you have to get the dash kit plus the module to retain steering wheel controls, but it works (or at least mine has) Hope this helps
