If you could, I would ground the amplifiers to the frame. It's just a better conductor. But if you have to ground to the chassis, make sure to make the ground as short as possible, to a thick piece that has no spot welding around it or anything that can impede the current from traveling, and add a big cable from the battery negative to the chassis. CMcLane816 Posted October 30, 2021 Author Report Share Posted October 30, 2021 UPDATE !! Last week I got all the wood for the floor and amp wall installed with my buddy. Will post pics tomorrow when I got some sunlight outside lol. Just been grinding. So over the last couple days (14 hours ~), - I completely ripped out all my old 4 ga power runs that used to run my system. - Installed d3400 battery, I called xs power and just did what he said: parallel power and ground to primary and add a chassis ground. Also, added ground thru the RVC to block. I got the 0 ga to fit thru with lots of persuasian and then realized I was out of 0 ga lugs, LMAO !! So i just ran a 4ga ground thru the rvc for the time being. - Ran 2x runs of 2/0 to the rear of the truck off d3400 both fused at 450, got the smd terminal blocks installed and hooked up in the rear. - My boy should have the box done next month sometime, and really all that has to be done is drop the subs in the box and install the cab 4500 which will take no time at all seeing as it will only be 2 short runs off the smd block. ( picture will show ) - In the mean time I will ground alternator to frame and the get frame grounds done in the rear. Hopefully by december we will be slammin - Eventually will do 370 mechman alt and another d3400 for primary if needed. I will throw up some pics later or tomorrow. My past 2 setups just isn’t loud enough lol had a sundown x 12 in between the front seats then I sold it and done 3 sa 8s rev3 in the back since I had captain chairs out of a Tahoe. The phoenix gold amp will be coming out when new subs and amp go in as well as the red 4 ga wire, its just all i had left to use for the time being. The new sub box will basically fill up the majority of that platform. New amp will go on the back wall. Will be fine tuning here until box is done.
