Sluggz
I predilled holes in my sub box for EZ Lok inserts and noticed that some layers of the MDF began to separate and lift up so I stopped and removed the inserts. I used the correct size drill bit for the inserts as well. The first one I did, I noticed it has left a high spot in the wood as well.. Did I do something wrong? SnowDrifter
Honestly I hate those things. MDF doesn't lend itself well to inserts of any sort. If you want threads, the best way to do it would be to laser out some rings from sheet steel, drill and tap those, bolt that to the back side of your baffle, then secure the driver to that. Barring that, the screws I've had the best luck with are some spax #8 multi material construction screws. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
