CcBoom
New to the SMD forums and was hoping someone can help me out. I currently have a 40ah xs power yinlong bank but want to switch over to a 45ah Cmax bank . What all will I need to do to make this happen (besides the bank haha)? I currently am running a 390a alt charging at 14.8v. Tia
SnowDrifter
Externally regulated alt - no swings between hot and cold Balancer for the cells Appropriate charge voltage for your configuration If those are the LMO cells I'm thinking of, you'll want to make sure they stay cool as well. Different chemistry than the yinglongs. Honestly... My 2 cents is to keep the yinglongs. Car audio is like, the perfect use case for those LTO cells ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
audiofanaticz
If your not able to charge 16-16.3 you don't want cmax. You can trick most alts with 3 diodes typically but Id test it by starting with 1 diode and adding another and another until voltage is where it needs to be.
