Thats cuz sonic electronic is using the ol t3k fuse rating. The T4k has a 500amp fuse....there is no way ur gonna get 4k + rms outta a 300amp fuse.....u might get up to about 3400 but not 4k. on the t15k go read up on the technology....also as the install progresses ill be a REAL judge on if this amp does what it says it will do.  I scaled back the caddy plans, i was going to do 10 batterys just for the hell of it and because it cant hurt right?  Nahh my RF "contact" says 2 batterys at the most....so when this is in full wang-age ill let you guys know if its doin what its supposed to

On my amps i have 1/0 going to each T4000.1bd.  The runs are about 6 feet long each from the batts to the amps and are doing JUST fine.  Yes the T4k has a 500amp fuse.

i think the length of the wire has as much to do with it carrying the load of a 4,000 watt amp as anything.  My runs are fairly short and all thats required is a 1/0 wire.  Of course if there is a 30 foot run it may start causing problems....

Also sonic e might be going off of the manual.  The manual says its (2) 300 A fuses stacked when its actually that (1) 500 A fuse.
