kingsuv Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 The 87a post is only energized when the 86 pin is not energized. Designing, building, and shipping boxes. ImLow78 Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 The 87a post is only energized when the 86 pin is not energized. So I can wire a 4 post relay the same way and it will still work? Gotloud555 Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 Some auto relays have a diode across the relay already. Would these types be good enough to use? I have been thinking about that too. Adding a diode with relay would be asking for additional work. S.P.D.T have 5 terminal and S.P.S.T 4 terminal.
Gotloud555 Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 After doing some research i did like to know if anyone understood or have any knowleges of experiences with electronic relay? Correct me or not. There's two kind of relay that are commonly used in 12- volt automotive. (SPDT) relay's which have 5 pins, and (SPST) relays which have 4 pins. I heard that SPDT relays are often used in alarm installations. I assume we going to use SPST for audio equipments. What are the pin hook too? pin 30 - + 12 volt ( battery + ) pin 87 - Amp / remote turn-on terminal Pin 86 - head units remote turn-on lead Pin 85 - ground and Pin 87a - no connection (SPDT only) Relay are just small electronic that help power equipment.
deernet Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 I did some searching and found this relay with a diode built in. http://www.newark.com/durakool/dg85b-8011-76-1012-dr/automotive-relay/dp/30M9193?Ntt=30M9193 T1500-1 BTL 18 D2 Loaded P300-2 Waiting on RE XXX 6.5s to get here
badfish Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 i found one on parts express or somewhere too, but a comment left at the bottom of the page said the diode was faceing the wrong way for a car amp remote and had to be flipped. thats even more work than putting your own on!
