eazy
How big did the box end up being ? I think it was .29 ft3 before sub displacement. I didn't get your PM on *** until after I built it. wL<3bass
I prefer a manual also but the automatic is better in the 1/4 mile My dad has an '06 gto with an auto just b/c on trips he doesn't wanna have to shift...but they also have that where you can manually shift and u just tap the shifter into the next gear. eazy
Alright now he wants to try a new box. What do you guys think the loudest solution would be, just a normal ported box with the sub and port firing toward the rear in his trunk? sundownz
0.5 to 0.6 cubes tuned to around 35 Hz works very well. Getting a bunch of bass from a trunk with one eight might be a little challenging, though Can you mount the box under the rear deck and fire the sub and port through openings in the rear deck ? Negative. The gas tank is right there in the way surrounded by a metal cage. What about on the floor in the backseat? wL<3bass
Why not get another 8 and use the rear seat "foot wells" and build a box and fire them down? Forevrbumpn
wow, them pontiacs are beautiful!!! nice simple set up there, sure it sounds nice Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. eazy
Thanks guy. Well he wants to keep his backseat fully functional. Maybe if the box was downfired and not very tall they could put their feet on top of it? lol I've never built a downfired ported box, which direction should the port aim? kandiman71874
0.5 to 0.6 cubes tuned to around 35 Hz works very well.Getting a bunch of bass from a trunk with one eight might be a little challenging, though ecspecially considering the gastank is right up against the back seat in the trunk. i've seen this done b4 and its a awesome deal but you will need to get a little more familiar with fiberglass before trying it. Where the armrests are for the rear passengers, inbetween them and the window there is a rather large area that an enclosure can be built into and there is enough room for 2 8's perside. jump in the back seat, look between the bottom of the window and where the armrest panel meets the seat and start invisioning an enclosure behine the panel with grill gloth covered grills. just a thought anyway...
