01xtreme
nope. 4 4ohm dvc subs you are looking at 2, or .5 ohms. loganuf
alrite that blows, well then my next question is what should i do.....im not in a financial situation to buy a new amp right now, and my crunch pzi3000.1 isnt gonna put put more than 950 rms at two ohms, if i wire it to .5 do you think im setting it up for disaster? basshead
sometimes 4-4ohm dvc subs can be wired close to 1ohm from my exp when i series/parallel wire 4-4ohm dvc subs together they can read anywhere from a 1.4-1.8 ohm load now this may not be the case with all subs but i have seen it more than a few times the only thing i dont know is what ohm load your amplifier will sense im gonna do some research and try to find out tho
wL<3bass
With impedance rise you might be okay....running at .5 but then again I have never ran nor seen the point of running amps at .5 unless it is for competition use only... Colin - STAPUFT
Why not try it at 2 ohms for a while? Like basshead said, get a multimeter and check to see what your final impedance is. It might be closer to 1 ohm than it will be to 2. Most 4 ohm subs I have meter at 3.4 ohms or so, but I think that is because when you play them with heat and impedance rise, it goes up closer to or above the rated 4 ohms. Maybe test it at .5 ohms if you feel lucky. Sure, you will get impedance rise, but i would think they figure on that when they build the subs and amp. I wouldn't go that way personally.
