Is my new yellow top takeing a crap?

Recommended Posts

ok I dont have my system in yet. I have a viair 350 compressor to back up my nitrogen. It draws around 30 amps max give or take.

I got a new Yellow top after christmas. When I ran the compressor with the truck off it didnt slow down. Now for the past couple days when I shut the truck of the compressor slows down it even makes less noise. What do you all think is going on? I was thinking maybe the yellow top cant dump fast enof to power the compressor or its getting ready to crap out on me.

I got a yellow top because I knew Id be running a lot of stuff with the engine off for long periods of time. I figured if my air ride sprung a leak in the middle of night the battery wouldn't take a crap on me from the compressor running it dead. Should I have just gotten a red top?

NAH, you were right to go w/ the yellow top (deep cycle).

You just need to load test it based on it's reserve capacity/ amp hrs.

If you have an AUTOZONE nearby they will do it for free but it will need to be FULLY chnarged to test.

If it it's dead they SHOULD (not always) have a trickle charger and charge it for ya otherwise just make sure you trickle charge it b4 you take it in.

I would do a load test on just to make sure. I use to run them but I have never had any luck with them. The yellow is for the long draws without charging. With that said it takes longer to charge it back up after it is down. The red is for a more rapid discharge, and will recover faster.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)
