2. battery - to chassis/body/frame.

3. engine block to chassis/body/frame.

if you want' date=' to be protected more, [glow=red,2,300']put a fuse between your battery and alt wire.[/glow]

Yea I heard, This can cause fires if u dont.

What is the best place to ground a wire from the engine block,

And Does it matter where u bolt your wires on the alternator

Ive never look at mine. I will check it out and thanks for the tip anyway.

i actually had the same question as bassmachine. i just wanted to know what size fuse should i put between my battery+ to my alt+??  im using 1/0 awg and my fuse going from my battery to my batcap is 250amp. should i use a 250amp fuse from my batt+ to my alt+?? this is the first time im doin the big 3 and i dont want my car going up in flames

And Does it matter where u bolt your wires on the alternatorwhatve you been looking at? look for a stud on the back of the alternator that should already have a wire going from that to the battery sometimes. attach it to that. the engine block, anywhere theres a bolt and isnt in the way of melting the wire or getting stuck in a fan or something. be smart.

what size is your alternator? thats what size fuse you should use.
