Starting Thought Processes For My Build Early....

Recommended Posts

I have an 04 Expedition. I'm willing to lost my 3rd row, but not willing to lose my second row seat (not yet anyways). I want to build it groundpounder style tuned to 30 hertz. Wanting to wall it off. This is what's going in....

2 18" Fi BTLs fully loaded D2s

2 DAT HF 2500.1s

2 DAT HR4125s

7 Kinetik HC 600s

^^^^that's all that needs to be configured in the box design. I have plans for fiberglassing door panel pods and a Mechman alt. as well as upgrading big 3 and running 12G speaker wire to the subs.

Any of you designers got any ideas?

to be honest? cause they're cheap. lol I may upgrade the closer I get to build time I guess. It all just depends on what's left in my budget/if I can find some of these things used for cheaper.

I'm trying to build the whole thing for under $6500

34 is still a really low tuning (in general) . your going to move air. they are BTL 18's....

for batteries is it not cheaper to go with like 3 2400's than 6 600's? it may be cheaper as a group but not seperately...

If you've been doing something for 20 years, does that mean what you do it right???

3 600s are 2550 amps, 1 2400 is 2600 amps and the lowest i can find 600s for is 99$ each, the lowest for 1 2400 is 269, that I could find... your better off getting the 2400s.. it will end up being cheaper on your part

not to mention the AH, 3 600s is only 60 AH where 1 2400 is 128....

i would have larger batts so i would not need as many jumpers. thats at least 20 ring terminals to get them all together

you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol

not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be.

yeah you'd be better off with bigger batteries. more powerful that way. and i'd run 8 ga wire to your subs. just cuz you can. might be overkill...but i like to be safe than sorry.

as for the box...what are your dimensions you have to work with?
