ChevyBoy
Is this right? I'm confused by that math because square root of 1500 is 38.72 and X2 = 77.45?? I'm trying to do this now with 656 watts, 2 ohms. I get 51.22 volts. keywords are 1500 X 2. square root of 3000 is 54.

I figured out mine is 36.22 with 2ohms at 656 watts.. too bad my damn amp only put out 20 max.. so I set it at 18.6 whatever, its halved, sounds right. Its a mono amp too. white4d96
Newb question: What's an o-scope? Too many projects, too little time...
slugdub
Oscilloscope. I am sure one of your teachers in highschool probably had one. Its just a fancy name for a box with knobs that measures sound waves and represents them on a green and black screen visually. A way to 'see sound' basically. You can see when clipping starts. white4d96
hm...wonder if my physics teacher would let me borrow his (if he has one) to test my amp...i cant tell for the life of me if its clipping or the subs are just pathetic... Too many projects, too little time...
slugdub
A link to that video would be nice!
white4d96
Speaking of videos... Is clipping as ridiculously noticeable as it is on videos? When I think clipping i think of that "slapping" bottoming-out sound you hear from a video... Too many projects, too little time...
slugdub
Should be pretty obvious. The wave itself basically flattens out on the scope so... yeah, should sound like ass.
