BlockShaker
I'm getting ready to build an enclosure for a 2008 Chevy Malibu. The owner wants to go with Fi Subs since watching them on this site and Youtube. I've never worked with these subs before so I need some suggestions. He wants to go with either a 12" BL @ around 1600w RMS or 2 10" SSD at the same wattage. All in all he's working with 1500 to 1600w RMS @ 4 ohms. The enclosure will definitely be ported plus the trunk entry is small. Either way you should be able to fit the proper sized box for the 12 easy, I am not sure about the 10's though, never used 10's. Edit: I agree with fis10 the SSD's will better utilize the power you have available. Edited June 11, 2009 by CaptainzPlanetz Quote ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ CaptainzPlanetz
The seats fold down. That means you can fit the box much easier through the seat opening(Usually), you should have no problem fitting either set-up. Quote ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ ChevyBoy
I heard a single bl 12 and they get pretty loud. I wouldnt put that much on a 1000 rms rated sub go for the 2 ssd's. but you also have never used one nor attempted to put 1600 rms on them. the 10s "should" get louder. either sub should sound good in that setup though.
