well one of my co-workers called me up and asked if i could help load her friends dog because she couldnt move the dog to her car to take to the vet to have put down. so i drive about 20 minutes help load the dog up then another 20 minutes back to the vet...it was breathing real heavy, tongue was purple from dehydration (didnt have enough energy to move or drink)...but it was just laying there in its own piss, couldnt move. so i picked up the dog and put her in the car. then drove down and dropped off the dog. they asked if i wanted to stay for the shot and i was like theres no way i could do that. im a dog lover so i cant watch one die...its a bitter sweet....i helped put a dog down but it was in horrible shape to i helped take it out of its misery. she gave me $40 for gas and as she said "mental distress" she knew it hurt me to do this. its bad im tearing up and the dog wasnt even mine. saw it for literally 2 minutes. before i left i gave her a pet on her head and rubber her back.

i did a good thing but i still feel bad...

that sucks man. i know what it's like to have one of my dogs put down. i was like 8 so it's hard. i'm sorry about that man. atleast he's in a better place now and no longer suffering.

yea...ive been around for 3 of mine to be put down...its sooo fuckin hard. there family members

Been here to many times..... I had my bassett hound die in my bed 1 week before this past x-mas. His kidneys failed, and the vet said that due to his age. blah, blah, They gave him a med to take any kind of pain away, and he died on my leg, while he was sleeping.......That WAS HARD. What is worse CHODE MANG, then picking up that dog, to bring to the vet, Is to pickup the dog you had for 14 years, that just died in your lap, and load his soul less body into your truck to bring to the vet.....Even typing this up now, I get upset about it......Loved that dog. Anyway, chode, you did good bud, but personally, I wouldnt have taken that 40$, maybe 20$ for gas, but the rest I would have given back

sorry to hear, hell few months ago my dog got parvo even tho he had all his shots and i about cried just knowing he could die from it he pulled thru thank god and i called up the other vet who gave him his parvo shots and gave it to them good. really tho its said when you got to put them down its very hard to do

i tried to give it back to her...i would have been fine with like 10 bucks just to cover gas but she had 2 20s folded up and i tried to give at least 20 back and she wouldnt take it.

Damn Chode, im sorry, I lost two pets recently, one my cat that i had raised from birth, and the other my chiuaua of 12 yrs, the cat was my fault because i pulled in my driveway way to fast and ran her over, killed her instantly, I cried for days because of that, then two weeks later i get up one morning and my tootsie was laying in her bed ears up, eyes wide open, called her to go outside and potty and she didnt budge. She had passed away in her sleep from natural causes. Damn its hard just talking about, I still to this day will not do more than 10mph in my neighborhood because im so afraid to hit someones pet.
