effects of polyfill in a sealed enclosure???

iso i appreciate your time so much!.... i think im going to go with the shrink the internal volume idea first... the add more polyfill idea just sound like a dead end...which im assuming thats your opinnion on it also... anyways we will see how that works out... if all else fails..... i will have a college loan within the next couple weeks... so i dont see any reason why i cant build another enclosure... the time and effort are going to be the biggest hassle... but ive got some new ideas.... so ill see if i can get this one to work, if not i may just start at square 1 and go ported with a new design...

thank you again for all your time!

I agree with the bold print. I wish I could be more help man.

I do like the idea of 1 cubic foot sealed with 1 pound of poly fill and I would appreciate it if you would let me know the results.

Have fun.

hey i was thinking... instead of using bricks or pieces of wood to shrink my internal volume.... could i use expand foam? it kinda sounds like the easiest way to go about it... 4 bucks and just apply..... instead of spending time cutting wood.... not to mention i wouldnt have shit rattling around in there... let me know what you think...

It's kinda hollow, that stuff..

I would start by throwing a couple of bricks in there, just to see how it changes the sound. Then you can pull them out or add more easily. Once you get it to where you want it to be, use wood to finalize it.

I'm diggin your build, and think it turned out beautifully. Although I am far from an expert, I am getting ready to do a 4x8 build myself with RE Pro RT's in my Scion. I just got off the phone with RE, and they said that, specifically with your build AND mine, since you're sharing airspace, go PORTED. If you're using PVC, which I would suggest because of your build, 4x7.7, or 3x10. Also, dont forget that you're using the REx series. SINGLE voice coil and lower power handling. While I'm sure they'll sound fantastic, you've gotta be realistic in how much excursion you think you'll get out of what's essentially RE's cheapest sub. Best of luck to ya, and... Keep us posted.

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha
