meade916
Didnt want the headlight (HID) wiring, Alpine Power, and other stock wires to be all up in my new RF terminals so i made a little side post for them. First the bolt gets threaded in tight then the nut comes down to hold the "eyelets" in place. After that a nice red rubber boot to protect it. Worked perfect and now i wont have to see them once the 2/0 is in place. Just shy of 6,000 strands on this beast of a cable. You wouldnt know it by the way if flexes though! meade916
Now for the "fun" part...only the first wire is attached, it was getting late so most of this stuff is "mocked up" so i can see where im puttin it all before i make it permanent. Found a great spot for this fuse block. There was "what was left" of the old bracket i fabbed up for the old breakers that used to be in there (stolen) and it made for a nice place to shoot screws into. Its kinda big and will have 2/0 in and (2) 2/0 out so i dont have much of a choice where to put this. I like it here.[8D] Nothin like some 2/0 Alternator Power and Ground...I got your "BIG 3" right here! (Actually this is nothing, i got more pics after work tonite) More to come later.... meade916
heres a few more pics. Nothing exciting, but part of the install so i may as well show them. Its the rest of the power wire run....the last pics were "mocked up" so i could see how they were going to turn out. Oh ya, cant forget this little thing... me > Alpine video lockout - if you have an Alpine DVD and you dont know the Pac TR-7, then you dont know nothin' Time for some solder. Yes crimping is faster but this is better IMO and its prettier. Plus, i can always heat the crap out of it and pull the wire back out for re-use later. meade916
This looks like a good spot to bring the wire into the car. My battery rack will be right here in this area so it will be perfect (i hope) A NICE grommet, courtesy of the Navigator i just finished The "bone yard" is always good for something here, thats why i have one. Now that i know wherer they are going, i can choose the path and start runnin them back. meade916
Went ahead and snatched up some 18ga sheet metal "gutter straps" from out in the shop (at my work). Figured i could use the material to make something to hold all this wire. These worked good after trying one so i fab'd up a bunch more. In case your lost, here is what they do. meade916
This trunklid was alot harder than the hood, it has all kinds of wires, a cable, and taillights to deal with. Im thinking of going back to stock or at least the tinted or smoked altezzas since one of these was damaged. For right now they will work though.
