I'm not the most knowledgeable, but running 1000 watts off of 10 gauge is asking for problems. So is running it off of what will most likely be the same thing. If you dad wants cheap wire, give him the legacy, and get decent wire for yourself. Compared to some folks on here 1kw isn't much, but it is more than enough to cause problems if done improperly. We've moved outside of the realm of what will sound better and into what is downright dangerous. Anti Peel and Seal...lol You may be offended by the above. white4d96 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Share Posted October 14, 2009 wow, i didnt think 10 gauge existed as power cable I did an install where I had to get rid of some 12 GAUGE POWER WIRE But yeah, I say get that 4 gauge wire and use your existing RCAs for now, get a nice pair later.
