Sundown Z v.2 -- Cool new part preview

Recommended Posts

This part is a spacer / shorting ring / heat-sink for the Z v.2 model. These are made right down the street from us here in Troutman, NC at a family owned machine shop. Great guys down there... they also did our aluminum Nightshade v.1 pole plugs.

Just got these in... testing so far has not included them but they will be standard on production models.

Should I powder coat them or leave them raw aluminum color ?

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

Having them optional colors would not be cost or time effective... our powder coat place is about 15 miles away. If we had one right here in town like the machine shop I'd do it.

ya i hear you just throwing out some opptions out there do black or raw look and just keep a few in stock at all times idk but raw does look nice

lol. but i haven't and i don't plan on it. plus i'd probably miss and hit her belly button or her ear or something. lol.

If anything anodized, powder coating does not look as good to me. Off topic, wouldn't the powder coating reduce heat transfer, act as an insulator?

Minimal since we get parts coated thin... the heat-sink effect is not the primary goal of this part anyway, it is a side benefit. It is primarily a shorting ring / spacer.
