That is ok right? Like nothing bad can come from that?

The thing is my amp keeps sliding around and the wires are slowly coming loose from the connections.

I wanted to clean up my install a little too. It's my first one but I don't want to use that as an excuse.

A thousand people will tell you this, but here it is. Screwing an amp directly to the box with no sort of bushing/dampener between it and the box will definitely shorten the lifespan of the amp. The vibrations caused by the subs can crack apart the internals of the amp over time. Like for instance it can deteriorate solder points and cause resistors etc. to fall off the board. I would recommend fastening the amp to the floor or another surface.

That's what I thought.

It doesn't really have to go on the box. I have the space where it's at now. I just wanted it to look neater.

I can probably get some rubber bushings though.

ive witnessed a toroid falling off shorting/sparking

seen mosfet legs break from heat+vibration

add another piece of wood to mount it on, that helps alot

so u have 1.5" thick or more, plus rubber washers and a well braced box... if u have to

one reason not to mount it is if someone goes to steal your system its a complete package...I know from experience

My cheap-o amp lasted over a year mounted to my box

theres like 35 of these threads, search nex time

its fine as a last resort, but if you can avoid it, please do, because nothing good can come from the extra vibrations.
