whihc way does the shrink wrap go? the big side facing the 0 gauge or the small side facing the wire? because all of them packaged come with the shrink wrap big hold end facing the ring terminal.

i always put the big side facing the wire

to the people asking about getting that "boot" over the terminal after doing this, its easy, just heat it for a few seconds with a heatgun or even your girls hair dryer. It will get soft and slip right over the top.

Anyone have a tutorial for closed ended terminals?

02 Lexus IS300 (2JZ FTW)

Mids/Highs: JL Audio C5 6.5s all around

Mids/Highs Amp: JL Audio HD 600/4

Subs: four SA-8v2s in 3.8cubes @ 32hz

Sub Amps: SAZ3k

Battery: Huge Interstate Batteries relocated to trunk

About 80ft. of 1/0 OFC....

Head Unit: Pioneer 4200NEX

Just did this yesterday.. Learned it about 6 years ago at school tho for soldering on big battery lugs.. (School was MMI) and. We used them for main batt cables on boats.. Had the big over sized crimpers for them witch when done properly is very effective, but in a marine enviroment that solder puddle keeps corrosion out alot better.. Also like to put heat shring on them and over lap the lug hole very slightly and push it out way with bolt.. Gives a clean look imo

I was going to ask, is there any point in soldering (with an iron obviously) a bare end of wire for connection to an amplifier?

It seems that the wire gets pushed down (crushed even?) pretty good by screw terminals.
