The coil isnt burnt just looks that way !! The coil is 4'' 8 layer so yes it can take some power!! The wire is stinger 8g. This sub is not a true spl sub it is made more for music and high power!! And yes i did catch a UNICORN!!!! :01nocomment8so:

Coil is not burnt, its just a darker glue that was used. The sub has yet to see any power as of yet.
