im looking to upgrade from my kicker cvr 15s, what is a sub that can put out more excursion and spl without smashing my amp with watts. any sub thats up to 1500rms or so. circles, squares, doesnt matter. i was thinking L5s or something, any ideas accepted. and 4 ohm dvc would help because im gonna use a pair to wire to 1 ohm.

why not upgrade amp and subs? im pretty sure that Boss Ch3000d doesnt do rated power...

anyways.. back to the op...

theres DC, Fi, AA, Sundown ect ect...

i will stand by DC... last time i checkd.. they have a pretty high xmax compared to other subs i lookd at...

but this is what i would reccomend... save up ur cash... and do a complete rebuild... new subs/amps/mids/wiring/box/ HU (if nessesary)... you can always start slowly...

ohh and its always about build quility, you cn have the best sh*t money can buy, but if you dont know how to install/build properly. then you wont get the most out of it...

not true! you dont have to loose the kickers to sound decent! i have 2 L5's in a seald and tuned right with the rest of the gear in my truck they sound good. they are not the biggest or best, or what i want for that matter but they do sound good. opinions are like assholes..... everyone has one!!!!! and i am starting to think if assholes could fly this place would be an airport!!!!!!! now back to the subject, are you looking for one or two? and what size? do you want to stay with 15's?

You didn't really tell us how much you're willing to spend... from the looks this amplifier is putting out 1500RMS @ 2 OHM and probably around 1000RMS @ 4OHM since you're replacing CVR's I'd guess you're willing to spend about $200 per subwooer (i'm assuming you wanted two.)

Get two Fi SSD 12's 2 OHM dual voice coils this will give you a 2OHM load on your amplifier you can get that 1500RMS (thats perfect for two 12" Fi SSD's) this will POUND if you have the extra cash opt for a 15" SSD or a 12" with BP power.
