bobonit Posted March 5, 2010 Report Share Posted March 5, 2010 You said your other sub sounds fine. Disconnect the speaker wires from the good sub and try hooking them up to the problem sub. IF it sounds like shit still, that rules out your amp. Distortion doesn't mean a bad coil.... Also the likelyhood of blowing a voicecoil and it still reading 2.8ohm it highly unlikely. Sounds like your amp or wiring is to blame.
