dmz2711
would it be better to ground amps to the chassis of a vehicle, or to the negative terminal of the extra batteries??? how do you guys have it on your own rides???? :-[ Quote Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, NOBODY!!! dmz2711
directly back to battery is BEST, but u can chassis ground it if u like. thanks bro, but does it matter?? what is the advantage of grounding directly to the battery?? (just wondering) Quote Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, NOBODY!!!
AP Zoutes
just do both....
dmz2711
just do both.... ok, but what happens if your amp has only one ground terminal??? i can't ground it to the chassis and the extra battery... it's either one or the other Quote Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, NOBODY!!! AP Zoutes
ground the amp to the chasis
emperorjj1
lol well the best ground is on the batt terminal bc its resistance is something like .00001 ohms (dont memmer the amount of 0s but its more then 2). since this is usually alot lower then the chassis of the vehicle its "better" but you also have to consider the resistance of the wire and the overall length of the path to the batt neg. so depending on what your doign the chassis may end up with a lower resistance level (but it really depends on the car you have and the material the frame is made from, and if its a unibody type thing (bad for ground) so overall both is the best bet and its pretty much nessicary on high end systems. so if your really anal about this then test your frame ground and see what it shows (you meter will need to go below 0 ohms to be effective) Quote J. emperorjj1
im not exactly sure to be honest but im thinking you would need to put the bolt threw and then test one side vs the other Quote J.
