edog Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 I recently instlled a dual alt set-up and I want to check the output of each alternator.Do I need to remove the power output wire from one and do them seperate them or check them together? Derrick824 Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 You're gonna need a clamp meter to measure amperage output. Then you're gonna need a good way to put a load on the system. Clamp the alternators separately. Any extra batteries in the system should be disconnected also. Quote
