Thats an awsome diagram!. Only concern would be what if (god forbid) a stepdown malfunctioned? would all you electronics be toast or would the current just stop somthing like a blown fuse.? Just a thought :)

I'm guessing someone may have said this, but why not keep the stock alt on your car, and have another one or two charging at higher voltage, that are completely independent of the stock charging system? As in, they only run your 16V batts/amps. But I guess if you wanted to ground them to the car you'd have a big issue...
