Hummer with 4 NEW SMD's

Recommended Posts

wall it...or bigger box above the window line, yea that will put you in a higher class for SOME shows but its worth it...that port where its located now is whats killing its numbers...subs up port back and a bigger box and that bitch will be sick fucking nasty...and you know im always a phone call away if you need a termlab

If i go up with the box, and port back, I'll almost seal the port into the rear not to mention the SMD's wont be able to get into the box, in the space between the box and the roof ya know.

I watched those video's awhile back, it's pretty sick, nice work!

How big did that box wind up being (deep)? I've always wondered how much bigger the Hummer's cargo area is compared to my TBSS.

The box ended up around 22" tall to stay below the window line. and I think 48 or 52 wide.

why not just rotate the box around... im sure it would meter higher than its current format.

The box is fitted to the truck, and fiberglassed to the floor. I even had to cut into the fenders to get the additional depth for the SMD's.

actually bro, dont feel bad. Hummers are NOT number mobile's. I think sub up, port up is great but i would have put that port in the back by the glass personally. I have seen the port in the front like that before and it does hit hard but i dont know if it hits the mic the way it should.

2/3rd's of your TL number is dependent on hitting the mic just right, no matter how loud you are to the ear.

definitely a bigger box, so that means if it has to be above the window. so be it. loud is loud. who the fuck cares if its below the window line, its a shop truck anyways. Maybe a inverted clam or something if theres no room for them standing up. Post pix please :D

not definitely...unless its like 3 cubes per sub or something. Anything 4.25 or bigger is just fine - these subs LIKE small boxes.

yup i remember you mentioning that on the smaller box. I believe I saw another hummer from them (unless this is the same one) at a show in Maryland with 4 havocs...or btls...but holy hell did it look crowded back there! Port up also.

But another point is if they dont have any room to port back, then a wall may be the only way to be loud with the port forward. Good luck to you fellas either way. I cant wait to hear it. Will you guys be at Carlisle?

Yeah, they seem to work well w/ the smaller box but the sub box here was built for Mayhems and tuned low, then 2 months later scott called me that the SMD's were releasing so we upgraded evrything and waited for the subs but the displacment raised the tuning and now I gotta be honest I gotta built a whole new box. I'm thinking Clam w/ the 4 Smd 18's, i think it would be wild, but since the origional build was sub up we got the subs w/ out the post, and we I go wall or clam I need the post...its a real shitty spot to be in.
