World's Loudest Ground Pounders, (non walled)

Recommended Posts

I don't know about worlds loudest, but I figured I'd post some old info of my tahoe up here.

Officially I did 153.4 @ 32hz legal with 4 btl 18s and 4 memphis 4kws, though that was with some severe voltage issues so way less than 4kw each. There was a 155 @ 32 in that setup for sure, but I had to get rid of it about a year ago. It was about 1.5 db louder at 42hz, but there were serious quad alt problems at that time.

I'm working on a new setup so hopefully I can get back up there, I'm in the low 50s and hoping to turn up the power and match or beat the old score once I get my new alt bracket.

Im doing a show this saturday with my new Sampson score should be even higher!! And if i dont like the score i will put in the 2nd Sampson!! I will do one of my passes db drag style and post another video for the people who dont belive .....maybe 157 on music with the 2nd Sampson????????

Thats a lot of power, doesnt always translate to higher SPL though. But good luck my friend, I'll be watching out for updates.

for some reason grady's car has gone against all the "rules" for getting loud. just don't know if the subs will last more than 30 sec. on that kind of power. with the sundowns they were seeing a clamped 8081 watts, it will be interesting to clamp the single sampson to see the power difference.

I have seen Sampsons clamped at 11K, but thats optimal I think. Gonna be a show thats for certain.

here is my Showtime SPL score.
Thats where I put on mic in the passenger kick, then open the driver door wide open with the 2nd mic on the lower back corner of the driver door glass.

Then I average the scores together.

Damn Ed when I had my HHR walled off with 2 18s I did a 153.5 @ 37hz off 3,600 clamped watts and it wasnt even completely sealed off ;) Im in rebuild phase right now. Going back to 2 18s no wall setup

Ive learned some secrets with the HHR. Now I believe and can shoot far past the 154 barrier Ive had. And they do benefit from non walls more than walls.
