is this a bad idea

Run the biggest wire your gonna run and use a distro to drop it down as close to the amp as possible. That way you have the big wire so you dont need to run it again plus you have the right size wire to put in the amp.

Also you could probably cut down the strands at the end of the wire and make 1/0 fit. Ghetto as hell but better then taping 1/0 to 8 gauge

well your gonna need alot of $$$$$$. and i would do alot of research b4 u start buying things and building or your gonna break stuff and not in a good way

wait. did this post just go from how do i run 4 guage wire into an 8 guage hole to i wanna run 4 dc level 5's? i would not do that if i were you. you need a lttle more experience

heres the thing... first, thats not how this started.... i was wondering if it was ok to attach a piece of 8g wire to my 0g wire im running... second, how am i gonna gain experience if i don't try... besides ima ahve my friends dad look everything over cuz hes like THE smartest person i have ever met

does the smartest person you ever met have any experience building car audio systems? and you gain experience by starting small with things you can handle. not with 12kw. im not trying to be a dick i just dont think you should waste your money just to find out that its alot harder to build than you thought.

and yes he does have experience with car audio

nothing against him. but alot of ppl have "experience" with car audio. but systems on this level are a little more than your buddys car u did a cd player or ran amp wires for. we r telling you to wait. get on here steady for a year and c how much u pick up. i think you'll find ur biting off alot more than u r ready for at this point. but if u wanna go try it. be our guest and make a build log so we can follow along and offer advise along the way if u need it
