In all honesty, search some forums, build a better box. Sub up and port to the side has never really been a combination that I have ever heard of being loud in a trunk car. Build a box, 2.75ft^3 tuned to 35hz. Sub back, port back. You'll notice a difference. :) And i'm sure with a better box you could see a 140 on the term-lab. It would make it easier if you got a better amp as well. :good: If you haven't gotten anything from this thread get this: The Term-Lab is the official spl meter, go to a compettiion or find a shop that will let you hop on one, usually for a small fee if anything. I could go buy any spl meter, and the odds of it being as accurate as a TL are unlikely. If you know what you are doing, no one is hating on type -r's. lol

congrats on your satisfaction with your setup. unfortunately there are a lot of coolaid drinkers here that are not positive people. the tl is the industry standard so if you want to brag a number it has to be seals in the dash etc. and to cover thenext complainer it better be at an official event. for the money it is a decent retail sub. i had a 5yr old 10 do 136 so i can see his claims having some possibla truth. just have fun. just dont try to have a pissing contest till you have to prove something. all negativity does is push people away

Looks like a nice little amp. Just don't ever go by the MAX rating, you'll never in your lifetime see an amplifier get whatever figure it states as MAX. Rms is what you are looking at. It states 950 at 14.4v. What electrical do you have? (secondary battery, big three, size power wire) And as far as the box goes, i'd stick with a simple ported for now. Not only are they a bit easier to figure out, personally a type-r 12 wouldn't be worth the time and effort of making the perfect bandpass... Just wait til you upgrade subs. :good:
