The loudest 2x 18" in the world

Recommended Posts

I'm confused. I thought the riprock truck/suv thing was a single 18?

edit: a-team tested the level 5 spl in the rip rock truck using a single 15. I'm guessing they just changed out the baffle for testing the dc sub?

You can cool sub but cant cool SPL. LOL.

temperature, humidity, altitude, all that and more affect spl

same setup just covered one 18" hole and made a new 18" cut out with a hole for a 15"

would be the easiest thing to do

Thanks for the complements guys! The 181.1 is a world record in ex 1-2 in dbdrag.

We run 2 ddz 18`s and 4 sd 12k`s and 30 powermaster 16volt batts, for now :D

I believe Craig Buttler runs 4 18`s and 8 sd 12k`s, his 182.6 was on the AC 190, in iasca.

If some of you think that temp, and altitude does not affect spl, then you better do some homework. Every vechicle is different, so that means every vechicle will like a different temp to get the cab to the closest frequency that is tuned for peak spl, either hoter or colder. You can cool the cab or make it hoter before a run, it isn`t a compressed gas remember.

We run 4th order, wich is sealed in the back. For that dc audio test we pluged off on hole, and made a trim ring to fit a 15" in there in case anyone wanted to know.

There is a pic in termpro showing the sensor on the dash and not in the pocket too. All of our scores are legal, we don`t cheet up here.

Alans #.......lets see him back that up at finals.

That number was done with 2x 18s, he did at a show just before leaving to Brazil and never could back up that score, lots of poople know what really happened to get that score but is harsh to say on forums...

Kick Panel.

There that wasnt too harsh lol

Anyway, Congrats Rip Rock.

BTW Extreme cars are way more sensitive and finicky to changes than other types of cars. So if temp. will matter as well as other conditions but may not matter in street type cars, especially since they leak so much air compared to extreme cars.

Good job Rip Rock.

You can cool sub but cant cool SPL. LOL.

colder air you will meter higher

I dont see the cooling the subs, but definitely for a bit more SPL

Ive heard of people ( early 2000's/Late 90's) shooting nitrogen, or freon in the car before a burp when everything is locked up, until it was caught on to

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
