if you want to be able to overclock your processor significantly, you need to invest in proper cooling....namely water-cooling. Highly overclockable RAM is a plus.

how much you can overclock really depends on the chip. different chips will yield different overclocking potential. but you can sure push them to the limit with the right hardware.

I have gotten my Dual core X2 2.4Ghz to a stable operating frequency of 3.0Ghz! but I only have air-cooling so pretty soon the heat caught up to me.
