Powermaster Spl Alternators

Recommended Posts

I see that Powermaster Batteries are the official battery of SMD, But what about the SPL Alternators...I know Iraggi is used mostly, but what about these Adjustable voltage Alt's...Or are they real expensive and the common folk can't afford them?? I've never seen anyone with one of these.

I see I didn't read this far down..

The SPL alternators are specifically designed for trailer only extreme competition vehicles. Because of the radical design, output at idle is usually 0 and because of additional heat created; these units should not be operated at full output for more than a few minutes. In some cases, SPL units can be custom installed as a second alternator to the original unit for street applications. However, caution must be taken that only short-term loads are sent to the SPL alternator.

I dont know if Im reading this right, they have something the iraggi doesnt do.

With additional components XS VOLT units can be setup to charge a vehicle’s 12-volt system in primary mode and then, when needed, step voltage up and switch the charge over to a 16-volt battery bank in a secondary mode for competition.

So if that means that you can charge your front battery and run your car off 12volts while having your stereo and rear batteries getting 16 volts Id be willing to drop some money on that.

As I read on:

That kinda makes me not want it. I know the iraggi will work for daily driving where as the powermasters wont.

Just need to make it work as a second alt... Somehow...

Obviously some kinda custom bracket maybee a tensioner to make it happen..

If I can only get it inplace of the AC compressor, I'd drop the 500 bucks (well I'd look around) for it...

Looks top notch and after using a few powermaster products, it probally is...

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer
