That would work for short demos if your brought the engine RPMS to about 1800 rpm. I would probably go with at least 8 D1600 batts if it were me.

ok then 8 batts and one alternator be enough for 2000 amps of current

20,000 watts does not generally require 2,000 amps, unless the amps are extremely in-efficient. Most class d amps would use around 80 amps per 1000 watts, making your load around 1600 amps, but there are exceptions to every rule....

I don't see alt companies mentioning the fact that an alt rated at 270 in the 14 volt range won't do 270 amps at 16 volts or even 18 volts, it will be lower. Unless you change the properties of the alt, the components it is made of for 16 or 18 setup to do 270 amps.

As charging voltage increases, so does the field voltage supplied to the rotor. Depending on the unit and it's magnetic properties, some units can actually do a little more amperage at higher voltage levels, but it depends.

Our 270 amp ES will still do 270 amps running on a 14 volt battery.
