Fire Dept. Lights

Anyone know somewhere or someone that is selling LED fire department lights? I recently joined the local VFD but I can't find anyone locally that sells gear like this. Can anyone point out where online I can find some lights/sirens or maybe if anyone wants to share about theirs, tips, etc.?

Dude those lights are super pricey. Most of the ones I've seen at fire expos that were decent were around like 400 bucks. Start saving up.

Edit: Also read up on your local laws about displaying them on your car. I never had one and would just haul ass to the firehouse (if it was safe of course)....oh shit...you guys may be allowed to respond to the scene in your own vehicles...forgot about that...

you might want to find out what you can and cant have on your car.every place is diff read up on local ans state law to see what a vfd can have. im my area vfd can only have a blue light no red or sirens and the blue light must be on the roof. cant have it inside or in the grill and no head lights or side markers flash or strobe.and if you just joined i would wait a few months after . our local wants you there 6 months with all your training done be for you get a light.and the blue light just means nothing as well its curtisy you cant speed people do not have to move and you cant run lights or stop signs. so make your thoughts out well be for you spend $100 and up on a light

And like was already mentioned, check with your local ordinances. Around here we need lights to be visible front and back, have an accompanying siren and be approved by the county commissioners. There are a few other state laws that apply, but I don't know them off the top of my head.

As a matter of fact i work with a guy selling his, (he's going to LED stealth lights). Light bar, siren whatever else is involved with it. I don't have any of the information but i can ask and get pics this week.I think he was asking around 200-300 for all. 125-150 for the lights.

Well I talked to the chief and he said for now don't worry aobut lights as I can't respond yet, but he's debating on letting me respond in my car with an LED bar in the back, as I'm going to be ordering one for bike ride escorts. (My stepdad and his friends go on rides that are usually only front-escorted, noone to cut the back off, so it may help a bit)). It's the STL Signal Pro LED bar, hopefully gonna get it made custom R-C-R-C-R-C-R-C (red clear) for the rides mostly.

lol, is there a law stating that u can have to many lights on ur car? lol

i was gunna be in teh fire/rescue type thing but never went threw with it but i was gunna cover my truck wit so many lights it would move traffic more than a fire truck, ied had a federal q siren with a carson siren to go with it, maby some air horns from horn blowers.com

ied have full 360 degree visability but it would just be for me type thing tho

if i was u ied start out as cheap and as small as i could, and u could prolly check local pawn shops to see if anyone pawned any of there stuff

the older halogen dash lights will tend to be cheaper or higher than newer led lights due to how they dont make as many halogens as they did back a few yrs ago, leds will last longer and give u the ability to change different flash patterns to soot what will clear traffic the best, most halogens only give u a handfull of patterns and thats if ur lucky, like dash lights, u can get a single light with flashback shield, or get the 5flash mirrow to give it a better look and a more traffic clearing ability with a few color options to help

and with leds they can be brighter than halogens and last longer too, theres all diff kinds of lights u can get but it depends on budget, tast, laws, and what knot

im more into collecting vintage halogen lights, i had a few growing up as a kid but some broke or got lost so all i got now is my federal signal 184 power light becon with red dome and 4 bulbs, heres a video of one like the one i got

just a hobbie of mine has been lights and what knot for about 20yrs lol and i still got a knack for it lol

My opinion is that STL is JUNK... I've never heard anything good about them, but I also don't have any personal experience with then either. Good luck...
