Dc98hoe where have you gotten best results as far as your ground points for the big 3... And also yes I am planning on adding more amps (2 more 2100s for the lows, 1 more 2100 for the mids, and not sure what I'll use for the highs yet...

My mounting setup is the same as yours in your 98 I got the vortec 5.7 in her as I'm guessing you do... So I may just be stuck with a triple?? And do you think I should drop some power somewhere then? And also I've done a little looking at alts but I may as well ask since you got the same truck for the most part... What's the biggest alts you've found for our bodystyle?

not sure on your mounting setup for your year tahoe. no one makes a quad ,dom did a one off for lame dude jp,Dc only does a tripple for my year thats what i have. maybe mechman but all ive heard is hes doing doubles. most quads are for 2000 and up.

Doesnt JP have 6 alts?

go from front battery down to frame section by etween radiator and motor there should be a flat spot there then depending on your alternator mounts put one on one of your mounting bolts to same spot on frame. then i beefed up my factory wire to 0g from battery to inner fender. if you can in back ground battery on same side as frame as you did in front and do 2 runs if you can then ground amps to battery negative. of course amp positive to battery positive. i just bought 5 more runs of 0g that im going to use as negative runs front to back. ill post if there is a big difference a wise man once told me think of your power and grounds as a flow of water. what would be the best flow with the least resistence? copper is a way better conductor than steel, so if you you wire instead of the frame it will flow better. but the frame does do the job just not as effecient

at first i ran a220 then 2 280s. but i just sent my 280s back to dom last week to make them 220s. why bigger isnt better my voltage dropped at idle where i do most of my demoing and competeing. so the 220s put out most amperage at idle for me 185amps. the 300a or more alternators put out shit at idle

Actually they sound pretty crazy tuned that low even barely being able to run them... Why I did it? Rofl.. That's a good question... I guess just to try something different, I always tune em around 30-35hz and they took it with ease so I figured I'd say what the hell n give 21 a try... :D and yeah I usually play mine the most at idle too but I also make a lot of trips from south georgia up to minnesota... So you think maybe 3 220s would do ok? What do those put out at idle?

220 amp alts if you get good ones usually put out around 150-180 at idle. And for only 4200 wrms you won't need three alt setup, a dual 220 will be more then capable of running that with no drop if you have a few good agm batteries.

Just read where you said you are adding more amps later, then you will need triple kit for sure I would get the three 230 amp alts and a 6-8 battery bank.
