Cynner
Hey Mate, As much as DC Power sounds good, I'm over waiting on them. They keep dodging me around. Telling me, " Were just waiting on a new alternator that will be perfect for your car! Will be done next week! " 5 months later I'm still waiting and they keep giving me the same over and over. My build has been pretty much waiting on an alternator and a few other things to be finished. I'm running about 7,500watts RMS and I need something that will fit my car. Here's the catch, I live in Australia (Tasmania) and will need it shipped internationally. So, that being said let me give you some information on my car. It's a 2008 Hyundai Getz 1.4L 2 door hatch. This is the current alternator that's in it currently and a list of (other) makes with the same exact model alternator just in case you need to reference. MECHMAN
No problem- We have done that unit before many times. We have a specially made housing that mounts a large case police car alternator in place of that flimsy little unit. The biggest challenge, is that your vehicle only has a 4 groove pulley on the alternator. We can go as large as 300 amps, but the belt will just slip at loads above about 175 amps. You could possibly make a bracket to mount an idler pulley right next to the alternator to increase the belt wrap around the alternator pulley. If you can get close to 300 degrees of belt wrap, a 4 groove belt will turn a 300 amp unit OK. That being said, here are our prices: 220 amp (135 at idle) = $449 270 amp (165 at idle) = $499 Both units feature massive solid copper rectifiers for durability, and oversize positive and negative terminals. As an option, we can add the adjustable voltage boost module for $50 additional. Not sure about Tasmania, but most of our shipments to AU are about $120 in shipping. We can build that unit right away, we generally ship all orders within 3-5 business days. regards Matthew Quote 1-888-MECHMAN www.Mechman.com [email protected]
Cynner
Very good, I'll be ordering a 270 from you soon. Would I need to make any modifications to the 270 amp as you discussed with the 300? MECHMAN
Yes, you will have to add a backside idler pulley to increase the belt wrap, otherwise it will just slip the belt. Cynner
Hey mate, I'm so over waiting on DCpowerINC. Posted on: 21 September 2010 12:57 AM - This is when I first contacted DCPowerINC last year and this is my last post to them yesterday. Hey guys, any update? Been waiting since last year. My entire build has been on hold since December waiting on an alternator. I keep getting next week, I know you're busy but can you deliver or not? I really hope I didn't waste 6 months waiting. Look I'm over waiting for DCPowerINC. The only reason I was going with them is it was a bit cheaper. Can you re-quote me on this alternator. I need the highest output possible @ idle I'm not sure if your prices have changed recently. I don't mind modding. As long as it isn't to extreme but I need to be 100% sure it will fit my car. As I'm in Australia shipping it back isnt really an option if something goes wrong. Thanks, Dylan. MECHMAN
E-mail replied. At our current production volume, we should be able to have it built and shipped in 2-3 business days after recieving payment. regards Matthew Quote 1-888-MECHMAN www.Mechman.com [email protected]
