The OP makes sense to me, It would be like running 4/0 into an 8ga input. Wouldn't that 4/0 be a waste because that little 8 ga input would only allow for so much flow. Or is this not how it works?

The more cable you have connected to a battery the better, that increases your ability to get more current out of the battery at a faster rate.

meh fancy buss bars only look better, I'll take some flat stock over those type anyday

The whole point of the "fancy" as you call them buss bars is to eliminate the need for ring terminals. If you really take the time to solder all of your ring terminals properly, you will spend way more time soldering than it takes to just simply strip the wire and put it into the 1/0 input on the bars or terminals and secure it with a set screw. By using flat stock buss bars, now not only do you have to build the bars drill and tap the holes to connect the ring terminals, but then you still have to deal with installing all of the ring terminals. If you only have a few runs of 1/0 then ring terminals are the easiest and most cost effective way to go, but with 10+ runs spending a few extra dollar on a nice set of buss bars is worth it to me in the time it takes to do the install and the overall outcome of how it looks. There is nothing wrong with how AMI has all of the wires connected to the battery, especially with where his batteries are mounted he doesnt have much other choice, but to me I just prefer if possible to have the cleanest look possible and Buss Bars with 0 gauge input allow me to have as many inputs as I can fit on the bars and still have a clean look in the end.

This is how I connect any ring terminal to large cable, 8 gauge and up to 2/0, mega crimpers. Best possible connection.

if the connection on the battery mattered as much as your thinking, then a fuse would take away 90% of the current. over such a short distance there is only like .001ohm or something stupid low.

a bus bar does store a small amount of electricity and acts like a cap. so that is a plus for using them.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

How does a buss bar act like a cap? Never heard that one before, maybe in the AC world of things if the bar was huge, but in DC, don't think so.

I don't know where you get your aluminum from but 48" of 1 inch by 2 inch costs nowhere near 175.

That isnt the cost of the Aluminum that is the cost of the buss bars built and shipped. There is quite a bit of work that goes into making 2 48" buss bars with 20+ inputs on each.

I know how much work goes into making buss bars. Not a whole lot really. Program the machine (which takes all of a couple minutes)and walk away. The pecking cycles are what take the time but you don't even have to be standing there to do it. ;)
